UDOT’s Transportation Asset Management Plan provides details on how UDOT’s critical assets will be managed and funded. UDOT describes the current inventory and condition of critical assets, along with the necessary funding that will be allocated to maintain these assets, according to UDOT’s defined performance measure targets. The TAMP documents how UDOT manages their assets and the strategies being implemented in order for these assets to reach and maintain their indicated performance measures. The Maintenance Management System houses data that supports the decisions of the TAMP for the Maintenance division.
Maintenance forces should understand the strategies and performance targets for assets established by the Department and how their work affects these assets. Also, it is important for Maintenance forces to update the condition and inventory when they make repairs, replace an asset, or remove assets from the inventory. This data is used to compile the TAMP and is extremely important for the Department in determining the necessary funding levels to maintain the transportation system.
