UDOT's Mission Statement

Maintenance helps to support UDOT’s mission statement in every activity they perform by installing pavement preservation treatments or by removing snow and ice during a winter storm. Maintenance forces keep Utah moving.  

Maintenance forces are a key component in ensuring that the transportation system operates at peak efficiency while ensuring safety for all users. The transportation system is a dynamic system that is always changing from ongoing construction and the changing of the seasons. Maintenance personnel are always in demand and need to be in tune with what is happening and occurring around them and in their respective areas. It is important that maintenance personnel have a work plan for identifying priorities within their maintenance stations. While things happen that are beyond the control of maintenance, by developing a strategic work plan, maintenance forces can increase safety and influence how the transportation system operates.
