UDOT personnel who have the authority to send department wide emergency communications should obtain and manage an Administrator level account on the system. The URL is https://udot.readyop.com. The main account login is udotemergencymanagement (one word), but each super user/Administrator has been given an individual account and specialized access to the UDOT structure. Divisions, groups and Regions maintain at least two individuals to manage and update their unit’s information in order to be able to affect accurate, immediate and effective emergency communications through unified notifications through text, voice, voice mail and email.
As described in the EOP, Annex B, Common Operating Picture, Web EOC is used to maintain up to date visual contact of all UDOT critical equipment, assets, personnel, and activities. UDOT has established a system to provide real time information and intelligence for common understanding of the operational environment in the form of a graphical representation (Common Operating Picture).
UDOT personnel that are assigned to work in an EOC should receive WebEOC training. This training is designed to familiarize personnel with UDOT’s Common Operating Picture (COP). For those who have been authorized to use the Web EOC, the following login is provided below.
The Utah ShakeOut is where Utahns participate in earthquake drills at work, school, or home, practicing earthquake safety and other aspects of their emergency plans. The main goal of the ShakeOut is to take the opportunity to learn what to do before, during, and after an earthquake. Please see the attached link, to learn more about earthquakes in Utah. UDOT Maintenance personnel participate in “Great Utah Shakeout” as it helps to develop and strengthen the understanding of how to respond and prepare for emergencies. It also provides the opportunity for maintenance personnel to work with individuals and agencies outside of UDOT to enhance coordination and lessons learned.
As part of the Transportation Technician Education Program (TEP) maintenance personnel will receive training on various items that provide assistance during emergency events. The training provided covers a variety of areas such as CPR, Traffic Control, Equipment, Materials, Inspection and Documentation to name a few. These classes will provide Transportation Technicians with the basic knowledge that will help them to perform and act during emergencies. TEP classes provide maintenance personnel the knowledge and skill set in order to respond and or provide support during emergency situations.
