UDOT and the transportation system provide a vital governmental service to the state of Utah, as such is always an area of interest. Our fellow statesmen often write or email elected officials inquiring about elements of the Utah transportation system. Many times these letters or emails will be passed on to the Governor’s office to get an official response from UDOT officials. When receiving an assignment from the Governor’s office to respond to a certain question, concern, or general inquiry, the assignment comes with instructions as to when the response should be provided and who is to be cc’d on the response. These assignments are carefully distributed to ensure the proper UDOT personnel are responding.
When preparing a response for the Governor's Office, have the Region or Central leadership review the response to ensure proper messaging and consistency with other responses of the same nature. Use a relaxed tone and provide facts and dates if they are readily available.
