The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is composed of many Departments, Regions, and Divisions that all have important responsibilities and duties; each is designed to ensure all facets related to transportation are being addressed. Within this Manual of Instruction, many terms will be used to describe positions within the department. One term that will be commonly used to describe the leadership of UDOT is “Senior Leaders”. The term “Senior Leaders” refers to those individuals who currently hold one of the following positions within the department:

Director of Policy and Legislative Services
Director of Strategic Communications

UDOT’s Maintenance organizational structure consists of two main branches: the Central Office (Complex) and the Regional Offices. These offices oversee and carry out different responsibilities, but all contribute to the day-to-day operations of maintenance activities.
UDOT Central Maintenance and Facility Management is tasked with providing the necessary funding, tools, and training for maintenance personnel at all levels to be successful.
