Saint Gabriel School Weekly Newsletter for Parents
Saint Gabriel School Weekly Newsletter for Parents
March is our 5th annual Celebrate Our Differences month! The goal of Celebrate Our Differences month is to build awareness of populations who are different from ourselves and gain an appreciation for each other. Each grade level will hear from a guest speaker. Topics feature different kinds of disabilities.
Each Lent, Catholic families across the country unite to put their faith into action through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Through CRS Rice Bowl, families learn about how our sisters and brothers across the globe overcome hardships like hunger and climate change, and how through Lenten alms, we have the power to make the world wl a better place for all.
Rice bowls will be sent home next week. On Fridays during Lent, students are invited to bring in coins for our Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl Penny Challenge. Each grade will have a jug in the cafeteria during morning carpool. Individual rice bowls returned the week of March 30 will earn extra points towards the homeroom total. Please label with child's name and homeroom.
The 8th grade students will lead K-8 students in the Stations of the Cross during Lent on Fridays, March 6, 13, and 27. All sessions will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the church. There will be no sign-outs after 1:45 pm on these days as it is disruptive to pull students from church.
The Saint Gabriel PTSO Mother/Son event is right around the corner. This year's theme is "Survivor".
Join us for a fun day of activities, games, and a photo booth! Pizza (two slices per person), snack, and water will be provided.
Event will be Saturday, March 21 from 6-8pm in the St. Gabriel Multipurpose Building.
Tickets are $15 per person for the first two people and $10 for each additional person under the same reservation. Register by March 13. The first 250 who attend will get a special gift!
If a mother is not available, any special adult is welcome to attend with the child.
Enjoy patriotic musical selections sung by our 5th graders! Performance will be in the gym on Thursday, March 26 at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
All families are invited to attend our annual STREAM Showcase on Thursday, April 16 from 6-7:30 p.m. All K-8 students will have projects displayed. Also, families are invited to participate in hands-on activities and enjoy free pizza! As part of our sustainability initiative, please bring your own water bottle.
What is STREAM? It is an acronym that stands for Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math.
What kinds of activities will there be?
Art show
Robotics
Roller coaster simulations
Wax museum
Science experiments
And more!
The safety of our students is always our top priority, and that includes our daily carpool procedures. Each morning and afternoon, we work hard to ensure that arrival and dismissal run smoothly and safely for everyone. Your cooperation plays a very important role in making this possible.
To help keep our arrival and dismissal procedures safe and efficient for everyone, please review the following morning and afternoon carpool expectations.
Please remember a few important morning carpool safety expectations:
Follow the designated carpool route and remain in the car line unless directed otherwise by staff.
Pull forward as far as possible before dropping off students so we can keep the line moving efficiently.
Adults do not need to get out of the car. Students should be ready and able to exit quickly with all of their belongings.
Drive slowly and stay alert, as many students and staff members are present in the area.
Please arrive on time. After 8:00 a.m., parents/guardians must accompany students into the office to sign them in.
To help dismissal run smoothly, please follow these procedures:
Please use PikMyKid to announce your student. If you do not have the app, please have your student’s ID number ready to give to a staff member so we can quickly check them in. If someone is not designated in the app for pickup or know your student's ID number, a parent will be called to verify they can pick up.
When in the car line, please pull all the way forward to either a cone or the car in front of you so we can fit as many cars in the line as possible.
If you are part of the second wave, please remain in your car until a staff member directs you to pull forward (Car Line 1 only).
If you are picking up a preschool student, please check in with a staff member first so we can ensure your child is checked in for dismissal. You will then exit your vehicle to retrieve your student and return directly to your car.
If you have siblings with you during pickup, please keep them close and do not allow them to run around the car line area for everyone’s safety.
**For both morning and afternoon dismissal, please avoid using cell phones while driving and be patient and courteous with staff and other families as we work together to keep our students safe.
When everyone follows these procedures, it helps keep students safe, reduces traffic congestion, and ensures a smoother experience for all families.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in keeping our school community safe.

Tuition rates were published today. There will continue to be a full tuition rate and a rate for active parishioner families. Therefore, to bridge that financial gap, we rely on the generous support from our parish community each year. Please be advised that to be considered an active parishioner, annual stewardship cards must be on file to receive the active parishioner tuition rate. Tuition agreements are completed as part of the FACTS Re-enrollment process online.
Applications for the 2026-27 school year are now available! Know someone who may be interested? Help spread the word!
Visit our website to apply. Preschool through 8th grade will use the same application process. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. In order to receive preference, current and parish families who are ADDING students must apply by the priority deadline.
This is for NEW students only. Returning students will complete re-enrollment through FACTS in March.

Would you like to try something different for Lent? Fr. Jason invites the Gabriel family to pray daily and memorize Psalm 24 as a way to prepare for Easter. In adopting this challenge, we would be "giving up" the precious gift of time and "offering up" a communal prayer of praising Christ in our lives. If you would like to join the Gabriel Lent Challenge, here is the website link for Psalm 24: www.stgabriel.net/psalm24.
