Bring your school supplies and meet your teachers August 14. This is a dropin style event. You can come anytime between 3 and 6 p.m. Be sure to stop by the cafeteria. Booths will be set up to answer your questions about bus, cafeteria, athletics, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Academy of Music and more! The office will be open if you need to drop off health forms or medication. Please note medication must be accompanied by a medicine form even if it is over the counter. Need more information? Are you ready for Spirit Days? The third Friday of each month is designated as a Spirit Day. Students may wear a spirit wear top with uniform or PE uniform bottoms.
We will have a spirit wear pop up sale at our Meet Your Teacher event in the cafeteria. All items will be 10% off! Cash and check will be accepted.

August 14- All incoming 6th grade and NEW 7th and 8th grade students and parents must attend in order to receive an iPad. Meeting will be in the church. Please do not bring younger siblings as some content is not appropriate for younger audience.
PTSO invites you to join parents to chalk the walk the day before school starts- August 15 at 6 p.m. Let's send our kiddos back to school with positive messages to get their school year started off on the right foot.
First day of school for K-8 students is Wednesday, August 16th. Morning carpool will begin at 7:25 a.m. School officially starts at 8 a.m. Please note that preschool dropoff is in the back parking lot by the playpark. Please form two lanes and be mindful of children crossing.
REMINDER: Wednesday and Thursday are a 1:00 dismissal.
The 2023-2024 Parent/ Guardian/ Student handbook is now available.
Notable changes:
Kindergarten will attend Catechesis of the Good Shepherd as a Unique class once a week.
2nd grade will use standards-based grading.
For students who are not picked up by 3:15 p.m. more than two times in a school year, parents/ guardians will be required to attend a family meeting with an administrator to determine a more suitable pickup plan.
Not returning a signed form (conduct referral, uniform violation, missing assignment slip, etc.) when due as well as the violation of the cell phone policy will be considered minor infractions and are subject to the infraction policy.
In regards to social media issues, the school will only intervene if the issue involves the school or subsequently affects the school.
Visitors must be escorted during the school day.
Family members may attend lunch with their child on designated days.
Two ear piercings are allowed for girls (earlobe only).
Girls’ earrings should not be larger than a dime. (small hoops are allowed)
Girls and boys may wear one bracelet.
Students in K-8 will have each have an iPad for individual use. (only grades 6-8 bring them home)
School iPads must remain in school-issued case at all times.

Staying hydrated is important! Please make sure your child has a clear or translucent, plastic water bottle each day. Hydroflasks and similar metal water bottles are not allowed during the school day. Water bottles are to be taken home each day to be washed. Only water may be in the water bottles.
SchoolKidz kits will be delivered on Monday. If you ordered a kit, you may pick it up at Meet the Teacher on Monday. Kits will be available in the music hallway.
Be sure you are signed up to receive Reach Alert notifications. This is the system we use to notify families in case of emergency or urgent reminders. A test message was sent today. Still need to sign up? To get started, click here.

As a reminder, please ensure we have updated immunization forms on file. Eye exams are required for incoming Kindergarten and/or new 1st grade students. Physical forms are required for 6th grade students. For more information, visit our Health Information page on our website. Forms may be emailed to school@stgabriel.net or turned in on Meet Your Teacher Night.

Students who complete the Evan Moor summer workbook by August 18 may have a uniform break on Monday, August 21.
Field Trip chaperones and special event volunteers need to have a background check on file and have attended the Safe Environment Training. We will continue to use the same arrival and dismissal routes for cars and buses. We use PikMyKid for dismissal.
