Save the Date! Trunk or Treat will be Friday, October 24 from 6-8 p.m. here at St. Gabriel. All ages are welcome.
Join us on Monday, October 27th, from 6:00–7:00 PM, for an engaging and practical presentation designed to help parents support their children’s reading development at home!
During this session, Cheri Bunch, our reading interventionist, will demonstrate techniques and strategies to teach beginning reading skills. Parents will also learn helpful ways to support older students in developing reading comprehension and vocabulary skills. By learning these methods, parents can reinforce reading instruction at home and help their children grow as confident, successful readers — without confusion or mixed messages.

🕕 Time: 6:00–7:00 PM
📍 Location: St. Gabriel – Loft 1

Dear St. Gabriel Families,
As the seasons begin to change and the air turns cooler, it’s time to start bundling up! We head outdoors for recess even on chilly days, so please be sure your child comes to school with a jacket or coat—and on especially cold days, a hat and gloves as well.
Winter uniforms will begin on November 1st. Please review the winter uniform guidelines below:
Shirts: White, black, or blue short- or long-sleeved polos with the St. Gabriel logo, or black or blue button-down shirts with the St. Gabriel logo.
Pants (K–8 boys and girls): Black or khaki uniform pants are required (no shorts).
Skirts (K–8 girls): Plaid, khaki, or black uniform skirts that reach the top of the knee. These may be worn with white or black tights or leggings.
Jumpers (K–5 girls): Plaid or khaki jumpers that reach the top of the knee. These may also be worn with white or black tights or leggings.
PE Uniforms (K–8 boys and girls): PE pants with the St. Gabriel logo are required (no shorts).
Sweatshirts (K–4): Only black or blue crew neck sweatshirts with the St. Gabriel logo are permitted. Non-uniform sweatshirts should be removed before the school day begins.
Sweatshirts (5–8): Black or blue sweatshirts with the St. Gabriel logo are permitted. Black half-zip pullovers with the St. Gabriel logo are also allowed. Eighth graders may wear their Class of 2026 shirts.
All other uniform guidelines remain the same and can be found in the 2025-2026 School Handbook beginning on page 45.
To help prevent lost items, please label all outerwear—especially sweatshirts, jackets, hats, and gloves. Our lost and found fills up quickly this time of year, so please remind your child to check it regularly if something goes missing.
As we enter the colder months, please also keep in mind our illness policy. If a student is sent home due to illness, they should only return to school once they have been symptom-free for 24 hours. Symptoms include fever (100.4°F or higher), vomiting, and/or diarrhea. Any questions, please contact the school office at absentee@stgabriel.net.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep our students warm, healthy, and ready to learn. We appreciate your partnership and hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend!
Warm regards,
Jessica Lefevre
Instructional Support Specialist
It is time to start thinking about enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year. We will continue to use FACTS enrollment.
Current Students
We will assume all current students (grades K-7) will return for next school year unless we receive written notification that your child is not returning. Please email school@stgabriel.net by December 1, 2025 if your child will not return. Current families will complete re-enrollment packets through FACTS in March.
New Students

Tuition Assistance (K-8):
Financial Aid applications for students in grades K-8 for the 2026-2027 school year are now available. We are committed to assisting families who need financial aid to make a Catholic education a reality. Last year, over $400,000 in total financial aid was provided to school families from St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, the Archdiocese of Louisville, the Catholic Education Foundation, and their partners. There is one financial aid application to apply for all aid sources. This application can be found at www.factsmgt.com/aid. This is a separate login from your FACTS Family Portal. Apply through FACTS Management System by November 30, 2025. For more information, please visit www.ceflou.org or contact Pam Terwilliger, our Finance Manager, at 502-239-5535 x302 or pterwilliger@stgabriel.net.

The Lumen Theatre Company of Saint Xavier High School is thrilled to announce a new theatre program for your students. Tiger Youth Theatre (TYT) is a children's theatre opportunity where children of our community will workshop, rehearse, and perform a short musical under the direction of our department's staff and students. First through fifth grade students will learn improvisation, singing, acting, and dancing skills. Sixth through eighth graders will learn improvisation, lights, sound, and run-crew skills.
We are proud to announce that registration is open for TYT!
Workshops will begin on October 21 and continue each Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 PM to 5:15 PM until our performance on December 5th. More in-depth information as well as a registration form are available here: Tiger Youth Theatre Information & Registration.
As an extra perk to participating in the program, TYT students along with the children of St. X staff members will be invited to audition to be munchkins and flying monkeys in our March production of The Wizard of Oz.
We have added a section on News You Can Use for high school information. Check out this section for upcoming events for prospective students. This section will continue to be updated.
