Saint Gabriel School Weekly Newsletter for Parents
Saint Gabriel School Weekly Newsletter for Parents
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Spring has sprung! The flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, and the sun is shining. Spring is a refreshing season because it is a time for growth and rebirth. It’s a time for us to reflect on progress that we have made and to feel proud of the growth we have worked so hard for. I want to thank each and every one of you for everything you do for our students and our school community. Your efforts are truly valued. After spring break, the rest of the school year is going to fly by. Ask your child(ren) to share with you how they want to grow and finish out the school year strong. I hope you take the time over the break to relax, unwind and recharge. Enjoy some quality time together with loved ones. I look forward to spending some time outside in the sunshine with my family. Warmer weather and good times ahead. Have a wonderful Easter and spring break!
Blessings,
Mrs. Sarah Eaton
School Counselor
Monday, April 8, 2024 will now be a Distance Learning Day for our students to allow families the opportunity to take advantage of viewing the Total Solar Eclipse! This is also the day after Spring Break, so this will extend that break another day, with students doing their work from home that day.
Teachers will post assignments on Schoology before spring break. Instructional hours for school staff on April 8 will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They will be available by email if you have questions. In-person instruction will resume on Tuesday, April 9.
More information regarding Distance Learning Days can be found here.
Spring MAP testing begins April 10. Please make an extra effort to ensure your child arrives on time, eats breakfast, and has a snack on testing days. While MAP is only one snapshot of how your child is doing, it does provide valuable data to help teachers plan instruction to meet your child's learning needs and evaluate our academic program. NEW: Students may bring mints on their testing days (no gum or other candy).
Would you love to hear your child say, “Will you please read with me tonight?”
A special invitation to parents of children who attend the Book Nook. Mrs. Bunch will be sharing tips that will help make summer reading a healthy and pleasurable experience for you and your child. Reading to and with your child is one of the most beneficial tools for raising a successful and prolific reader. Mrs. Bunch will demonstrate ways that will make reading sessions with your child fun and very rewarding.
This event is open to all parents- Wednesday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in Loft 1
Thank you for your support of our CRS Rice Bowl and Penny Challenge. Due to amazing support on the last day, we are still tabulating the results and will share these after spring break.

Tired of traffic? Want to avoid the carpool line? Have your students ride the bus! Saint Gabriel Catholic School contracts with Jefferson Transportation to provide safe, reliable and cost-effective bus transportation for our students.
Bus Registration
In order to reserve a spot on the bus for your child(ren) for the 2024-2025 school year, please complete the bus registration page during your FACTS re-enrollment.
As you can imagine, there are a number of factors and guidelines to consider when establishing routes and stops, and we rely on officials at Jefferson Transportation to assist us with this matter. While we try our very best to accommodate as many families as possible, bus transportation is not guaranteed for everyone who requests it. If you are interested in service, we encourage you to submit a registration form so we may attempt to accommodate your family. Final routes and pick-up and drop-off times will be determined by Jefferson Transportation.
Bus Rates
Bus rates were determined based on the number of current riders. If more riders than expected utilize bus service or the bus subsidy is greater than budgeted, a refund will be offered to bus families in May.
Re-enrollment is NOW OPEN! On 3/20 an email was sent with Re-enrollment instructions. If you did not receive an email, please first check your junk email folder. If you still do not see it, please reach out to us at schoolregister@stgabriel.net for help. Please note: Tuition Agreement, Bus Registration, and ASE will be part of this process.
As stated above, this is a requirement to be fully registered for the 2024-2025 School Year. Your child’s spot will not be guaranteed until this Re-enrollment has been submitted. This must be completed prior to April 12, 2024 in order to avoid late fees. If not completed by that time, the following late fees will be assessed:
• Between April 13, 2024 and May 10, 2024, we will assess a $50 late fee.
• Between May 11, 2024 and July 31, 2024, we will assess a $100 late fee.
• After July 31, 2024, we will assess a $200 late fee and your child will not be placed into a Homeroom for the 2024-2025 School Year.

There will continue to be a full tuition rate and a rate for active parishioner families. We encourage our families to keep in mind that the actual cost to educate a student is greater than paid tuition. Therefore, to bridge that financial gap, we rely on the generous support from our parish community each year. Please be advised that to be considered an active parishioner, annual stewardship cards must be on file to receive the active parishioner tuition rate. Tuition agreements will be completed as part of the FACTS Re-enrollment process online. They will not be mailed this year.
The 2024-25 calendar is now available.
