Loose sweats and t-shirt type shirts are okay. (heavier shirts, such as sweatshirts are okay)
Any bottoms worn must go past the knee. (no shorts).
There may NOT be any writing on the rear-end of the pants.
Appropriate words down the leg are okay - (school or sports team or brand names are okay).
Logos must be appropriate.
Tops must have sleeves; you may not wear a tank-top style top.
For safety reasons, proper footwear is required.
No slippers are allowed to be worn to outside recess.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the learning coordinator, one of the questions I am most frequently asked is, “How do I help my child study for a test?” Many students don’t know how to study and simply reread the chapter or glance over notes. This method is not sufficient for most people. Some kids are visual learners and others are auditory learners. Visual learners need to write and rewrite their notes. They need flashcards to study and drawing pictures will help them with recall. Auditory learners need to read and study their notes out loud. They need to teach someone else the information. I have created a list of ways to help your child study. Some require a parent to help and others your child can do on their own. Keep track of which ones seem to help. This will help identify what kind of learner your child is.

How to Study for a Test
Flash Cards
1. Write the vocabulary word on one side of an index card and the definition on the other.
2. Test yourself.
3. Read the word and say the definition out loud.
4. Check yourself. If you are correct, put the card in a pile.
5. If you are wrong, say the correct answer and add the card to the back of the stack.
6. Continue until all the words and definitions are correct
7. Start again and read the definition then say the word.
Teach Someone by Writing
1. Write the topic at the top of the paper
2. Use bullet points to explain
3. Draw pictures, maps, or designs
4. Review the information using your notes, outlines, book, etc.
5. Add any information you missed
6. Do it again
Teach Someone Else
1. Name the topic
2. Explain the information
3. Check the information using your notes, outlines, book, etc.
4. Think about any information you missed
5. Say it again
Color-Coded Notes
1. Rewrite your notes using different colors
2. Highlight the most important information
3. Reread or rewrite notes as needed
4. Use a dry-erase board, colored pens, or colored chalk to make the information stand out.
Matching
1. Write the words on an index card
2. Write the definitions on another index card
3. Mix up the cards
4. Lay them word-side down on a table
5. Draw 2 cards
6. If they match, keep them, and go again
7. If they don’t match, it’s another person’s turn or you try again
Folded Paper
1. Write the word on one side of the paper
2. Write the definition on the other side of the paper
3. Fold the paper in half
4. Look at the word, say the definition, then check to see if you are correct
5. Repeat for all the words
6. Repeat starting with the definition side
7. Write the vocabulary word on a clean sheet of paper
8. Write the definition next to it, without any help
9. Check yourself
Have a wonderful weekend.
