Dear Parents/ Guardians,
It has been a fabulous first week of school! Carpool ran smoothly, buses ran on time, opening assembly was rockin', our kids were engaged, and smiles were wide all around. I am feeling really good energy in our building. I think it was my best first day of school I can remember!
The beginning of the school year is all about connecting and fostering relationships. Teachers will be reaching out to you to introduce themselves and connect with you to learn more about your child. We consider parents as the primary teachers of their children so your partnership is vital.
Teachers are also connecting with students and introducing them to expectations to help them succeed this year. Children learn best when they feel safe and valued. This week teachers are engaging students in get-to-know you activities, teamwork challenges, and problem solving exercises in order to get to know each child for his/her unique gifts.
A few reminders for this week:
We want to start off strong so we will use this week to remind students of uniform expectations. Some things admin noticed that need attention: hair cuts, skirt length, and belts. We will start giving out uniform violations next week. There was an error in the handbook. The belts rule was left out of the original version. This has been updated. Belts are still required for students in grades 1-8.
We're seeing a lot of water bottles that are not clear or transparent. Also, cups are not allowed. This is a safety concern so thank you for your cooperation.
It's going to be a great year!
Have a blessed day,
Lara Krill

Mr. Cole McDowell, our resident seminarian, has been an asset to St. Gabriel School over the past year. In addition to his parish duties, he worked as a long-term substitute in our middle school last spring. We thank him for his contribution to our students and wish him all the best as he continues his studies.
St. Gabriel is a private school so we rely on tuition in order to pay for our budget each year. It is important that families honor their financial commitments according to their selected payment schedule. Please note that the delinquent tuition policy has been updated in the case that payments are not made as scheduled. If a family experiences a sudden financial hardship during the year, please contact our business office at aid@stgabriel.net so we may make alternate arrangements.
Please see letter from parish office regarding distribution of the precious blood during school masses for grades 3-8 starting August 24.
Choir will be offered to students in grades 3 through 8 after school on Mondays from 2:55pm to 3:45pm. starting August 28. Practice will be held in the church. Students in grades 3 and 4 will sing for our liturgies on Tuesday. Grades 5 through 8 will sing for the Thursday Liturgies.
If you would like your child to participate, please fill out this Google form.
Questions? Contact Mrs. Lutes at nlutes@stgabriel.net.
Staying hydrated is important! Please make sure your child has a clear or translucent, plastic water bottle each day. Hydroflasks and similar metal water bottles are not allowed during the school day. Water bottles are to be taken home each day to be washed. Only water may be in the water bottles.
Be sure you are signed up to receive Reach Alert notifications. This is the system we use to notify families in case of emergency or urgent reminders. Still need to sign up? To get started, click here.
