Remember we are in school, not at home; even though we are wearing pajamas, our dress must be appropriate for being out in public.
All pajamas must be in good taste.
Footie Pajamas are okay. Feet should have some type of non-slip surface on the bottom. Must still be able to wear shoes for outside recess.
Must have top and bottom, no pajama dresses.
No “back flap” PJs.
Loose sweats and t-shirt type shirts are okay. (heavier shirts, such as sweatshirts are okay)
Any bottoms worn must go past the knee. (no shorts).
There may NOT be any writing on the rear-end of the pants.
Appropriate words down the leg are okay - (school or sports team or brand names are okay).
Logos must be appropriate.
Tops must have sleeves; you may not wear a tank-top style top.
For safety reasons, proper footwear is required.
No slippers are allowed to be worn to outside recess.
Robes are acceptable (uniform or dress code must be followed underneath robe)
The 7th/8th grade Ukulele/ Guitar electives classes will present a concert on Friday, November 10 at 1:45 p.m. in the church. Families are invited to attend.

Fostering a Sense of Belonging
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am pleased to share some exciting initiatives that our teachers and staff are implementing this year to foster a sense of belonging and connection for every child in our school. One of our School Improvement Plan goals is to ensure that each student feels valued and connects with at least one teacher or adult daily.
To facilitate this, our teachers engaged in a relationship mapping activity, identifying students they connect with on a deeper level, considering their personal stories and academic status. Furthermore, our educators take part in monthly Professional Learning Committee (PLC) meetings to discuss and focus on the goals aligned with our 'PAWsitive' best practices.
These best practices include the following key components:
- Learning targets with clear "I can" statements for students
- Checks for understanding through appropriate assessments
- Grappling techniques that promote critical thinking and problem-solving
- Discussion protocols to encourage active listening and student participation
- Utilization of VARK (visual, auditory, reading/writing, kinesthetic) learning styles
We are truly blessed with dedicated teachers who are committed to their continuous learning to provide exceptional instruction for students on a daily basis.
Our shared goal of creating a sense of belonging for our students fosters an environment where they can truly thrive. This collaborative spirit is what makes St. Gabriel the best place to learn and grow. We invite you to continue being an integral part of this journey, as your support is vital to our success.
Sincerely,
Kelsey Dyar

It is time for Thanksgiving Baskets for Fern Creek High View United Ministries. We have a goal of 100 baskets this year to come from the St. Gabriel Community. Can your family sponsor a basket? Can your group sponsor a basket or two?
We are staggering the groups this year, because the response last year was so great that it was a little much having all groups and families in the cafeteria all at one time! Last year, this service opportunity was so fun, and it was wonderful to see all the intergenerational teamwork happening to provide baskets to FCHUM.
