Saint Gabriel School Weekly Newsletter for Parents
Saint Gabriel School Weekly Newsletter for Parents
Each Lent, Catholic families across the country unite to put their faith into action through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Through CRS Rice Bowl, families learn about how our sisters and brothers across the globe overcome hardships like hunger and climate change, and how through Lenten alms, we have the power to make the world wl a better place for all.
Rice bowls will be sent home next week. On Fridays during Lent, students are invited to bring in coins for our Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl Penny Challenge. Each grade will have a jug in the cafeteria during morning carpool. Individual rice bowls returned the week of March 30 will earn extra points towards the homeroom total. Please label with child's name and homeroom.
Save the dates! Spring MAP testing will be April 15, 16, 17, and 20. Please make every effort not to schedule appointments on these days. K-8 will take MAP Growth in Reading and Math, and grades 3-8 will also test Language. Please make an extra effort to ensure your child arrives on time, eats breakfast, and has a snack on testing days. While MAP is only one snapshot of how your child is doing, it does provide valuable data to help teachers plan instruction to meet your child's learning needs and how much our students have grown this year!
All families are invited to attend our annual STREAM Showcase on Thursday, April 16 from 6-7:30 p.m. All K-8 students will have projects displayed. Also, families are invited to participate in hands-on activities and enjoy free pizza! As part of our sustainability initiative, please bring your own water bottle.
What is STREAM? It is an acronym that stands for Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math.
What kinds of activities will there be?
Art show
Robotics
Roller coaster simulations
Wax museum
Science experiments
And more!
The Talent show will be Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 1:15pm to 2:30pm

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Spring is officially here, and everyone is feeling the change in the weather, along with a little restlessness. As the weather warms up, we have transitioned to spring uniforms. I have noticed some students becoming more relaxed with uniform expectations.
Uniform shorts and PE shorts are now permitted. However, all other uniform policies remain in place. Skirt lengths should be at the knee. During the colder months, many girls wore leggings, which made shorter skirts less noticeable. As a result, hems may need to be let down.
Students are still limited to wearing one bracelet and one religious necklace. Artificial, press-on, and acrylic nails are not permitted, and makeup is not allowed.
Please also be mindful of appropriate hair length and grooming.
On uniform break and spirit days, only PE shorts or uniform shorts are allowed. Students may also choose to wear their skirts or uniform pants.
Uniforms are more than just a dress code. They promote a sense of belonging, equality, and school pride. When all students follow the same guidelines, it helps minimize distractions, encourages focus on learning, and reflects the high standards we set for our community.
Thank you for your attention to these guidelines and for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Denise Chancellor

Orders due April 1st!
Ordering from Art to Remember helps showcase your child’s creativity and shows them their art matters. These keepsakes become cherished gifts, conversation starters, and treasured memories. Every time you order a product featuring your child’s artwork, you’re doing more than preserving a memory: you’re helping fuel art education. You will receive a form with your child's order code. An email blast will also be sent to families with the gallery link. Proceeds will be use to purchase art supplies for the classrooms.
Students entering grades 7-8 are eligible to apply to be junior counselors. Junior counselor application deadline is April 14.

We warmly invite you to join us for our Holy Week services as we reflect, worship, and celebrate together. This special time offers meaningful opportunities for prayer, remembrance, and renewal as we journey through the week leading to Easter. All are welcome! We look forward to sharing this sacred season with you.
The Easter Triduum begins on the evening of Holy Thursday and marks the end of Lent and the start of the most sacred time in the Church year. These three days-Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter- celebrate the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Holy Thursday centers on the Eucharist as we remember the Last Supper and Jesus’ call to serve others. Good Friday invites us to reflect on the Cross, where Jesus gave His life out of love for us. At the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday, we celebrate the Resurrection, Christ’s victory over sin and death and the promise of new life.
The Triduum is one continuous celebration of God’s love and mercy. It reminds us that through Christ, darkness is overcome and hope is renewed.
Our Stewardship Renewal process is getting an upgrade! All commitment cards will be completed online this year. We invite all faithful parishioners to complete a card as our parish goal is 100% participation!
All commitments need to be completed by May 31 in order to be eligible for the parish member tuition rate. School parents who have registered as a parish member, completed a stewardship commitment card, and donated to our parish over the last year, do qualify for the PARISH MEMBER school tuition rate. If a family has not meet one or all of these criteria, the family will qualify for NON-MEMBER school tuition rate.
