Winter Uniform Policy Begins November 1st
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
As the seasons change, the weather is becoming cooler, and soon it will be time to bundle up! We go outside for recess even during colder days, so please make sure your child has a coat, hat, and gloves when necessary. With the weather change, our winter uniforms will also begin on November 1st. Below are the winter uniform guidelines:
Shirts: White, black, or blue long- or short-sleeved polos with the St. Gabriel logo, or black or blue button-down shirts with the St. Gabriel logo.
Pants (K-8 boys and girls): Black or khaki uniform pants are required (no shorts).
Skirts (K-8 girls): Plaid, khaki, or black uniform skirts that must reach the top of the knee. These may be worn with white or black tights or leggings underneath.
Jumpers (K-5 girls): Plaid or khaki jumpers that must reach the top of the knee. These may also be worn with white or black tights or leggings.
PE Uniforms (K-8 boys and girls): PE pants with the St. Gabriel logo are required (no shorts).
Sweatshirts (K-8 boys and girls): Only black or blue sweatshirts with the St. Gabriel logo are permitted. Other sweatshirts should be removed before the school day begins, as they are not part of the uniform.
All other uniform guidelines remain the same, and the complete uniform guidelines can be found in the 2024-2025 handbook beginning on page 45.
To prevent lost items, please label your child’s sweatshirts, jackets, hats, and gloves. Our lost and found tends to fill up quickly during this time of year, so please encourage your child to check it regularly if they are missing something.
Lastly, as the colder weather sets in, please keep in mind our school’s illness policy. If a student is sent home due to illness, they should only return to school once they have been symptom-free for 24 hours. Symptoms include fever (100.4°F or higher), vomiting, and diarrhea. We are also required to report cases of RSV, influenza, and COVID-19 to the health department. If your child is diagnosed with one of these, please notify the school office at absentee@stgabriel.net.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you for helping us keep our students warm, safe, and healthy during the winter season.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
Jessica Lefevre
