Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Archdiocese of Louisville has developed an Intervention Protocol based on the belief that every child is a unique learner with individual strengths and challenges. Each school provides support in ways that reflect its available resources, and at St. Gabriel, our goal is to differentiate instruction in the classroom so that every student receives the accommodations they need to thrive.
To support students more directly:
A Student Strategy Plan (SSP) is created for students who are experiencing difficulties in the classroom.
A Student Accommodation Plan (SAP) is developed for students with a diagnosed disability.
If your child is experiencing difficulty in the classroom, or has been diagnosed with a learning disability and is not on an SAP, contact me to discuss the next steps.
You may review the Archdiocese Intervention Protocol steps Cycle of Intervention.pdf. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions regarding our intervention process or how we can best support your child.
Sincerely,
Denise Chancellor
Learning Coordinator

Fall MAP testing will be next week on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. K-8 will take MAP Growth in Reading and Math, and grades 3-8 will also test Language. Please make an extra effort to ensure your child arrives on time, eats breakfast, and has a snack on testing days. While MAP is only one snapshot of how your child is doing, it does provide valuable data to help teachers plan instruction to meet your child's learning needs.

We've put together a Schoology Family Guide to help parents/ guardians get started using Schoology. This year every grade has a "Class of" course where teachers will post homework, resources, links, and photos. This course will follow the students from year to year and provide a one stop shop for key information.
St. Gabriel School invites all 4th, 5th , or 6th (NEW) grade students to become School Safety Patrols. This stewardship project is a great opportunity to participate in our school community. Each morning, a group of approximately three students along with several adults, will greet students arriving during carpool drop off and assist Kindergarten and Pre-K students. For more information, see Ms. Lauder.
