Here are more details on some of our events.
We will be running a shoe drive for WaterStep all week! Students can bring used shoes to the music hallway before school. Boxes will also be located in the parish gathering space.
Monday: Decades Day! What's your favorite decade? Show us with your attire that day!
Tuesday: Leopard Print Uniform Break! How many leopard print items do you have? Can't choose just one? Wear them all!
Wednesday: Spirit Day! Wear all your blue accessories for our Pep Rally to celebrate fall sports and clubs!
Thursday: Anything but a Backpack Day? Get creative! (see guidelines below)
Friday: All-school mass followed by a Eucharistic procession through the school, Eat Lunch With Your Child Day- remember to order your lunch by September 23!
Saturday: Door Decorating Contest winner gets a visit from Big G! Post a picture of your decorated door and tag @stgabriellouisville by Thursday at noon to enter.
Finally, to round out our Spirit Week, we'd love for you to join us for one of our four masses during the weekend. Each mass will have a lot to offer. After masses, join us for the Renovation Dedication and tours of the renovation to see all our new updates! We hope to see you there!
Eat Lunch With Your Child days are back! The next designated day is Friday, September 27. This year there is an adult order form for lunch. If you would like to purchase lunch from the cafeteria, please complete an order form by September 23. This form is for guests only- please do not include your child's order. Orders will not be accepted after this time. Please do not bring outside food from another vendor. This event is for lunch only, not recess.
Third grade will lead the rosary aloud with all students on Wednesday, October 2 at 8:15 am. in the church. Students are invited to bring a rosary from home to participate.

Bingo is one of our largest fundraisers. Funds are used to offer tuition assistance and capital projects. A schedule for this year has been created to assist with staffing volunteers. If you volunteer, your child may have a uniform break the next non-mass day! Please sign up using Sign Up Genius.

We are currently seeking nominations for the 2024 St. Gabriel Volunteer Service Awards. Please submit your nominees for any of the service awards referenced below by Friday, September 20th. Our 2024 Service Award winners will be announced on Saturday, September 28th as part of our Feast of St. Gabriel Celebration.
Nomination Criteria:
• Parish member and/or school/preschool family
• Effort or initiative occurred between July 2023 and June 2024
Please note this is an award for volunteers, not for St. Gabriel employees or contractors, unless the service was performed in a capacity not related to their job duties.

Field Trip chaperones and special event volunteers need to have a background check on file and have attended the Safe Environment Training. Saint Gabriel will be hosting its annual PTSO “Fall Crawl” Walk-A-Thon on Thursday, October 24th. Funds raised help provide student scholarships, school enrichment, teacher requests for their classrooms and teacher encouragement throughout the year. Our goal this year is to raise $32,000.
We are looking for community businesses to help support our walk this year through various sponsorship levels. This is a great way to promote a local business.
Family and individual donations will begin later in October.

Youth who are high school age and younger are invited to submit original visual art, such as a drawing or painting, to be featured in the “Saints for Kids” section of Youth Focus in The Record Newspaper.
Students can submit art depicting the following saints:
Our Lady of the Rosary, deadline to submit — Sept. 22
St. John Paul II, deadline to submit — Oct. 3
St. Martin de Porres, deadline to submit — Oct. 17
Our Lady of Guadalupe, deadline to submit — Nov. 21
A photo of the artwork can be submitted via email to ocastlen@archlou.org or the original can be mailed to the attention of The Record at the Maloney Center, 1200 S. Shelby St., Louisville, Ky., 40203, with a stamped return envelope.
The 73rd Annual LIVING ROSARY will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024, 3:00 p.m. at St. Michael Church at 3705 Stone Lakes Dr., 40299. Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre will serve as the celebrant. All youth in grades 1 -12 are encouraged to participate. Register children online at www.MaryLouisville.com. Please join us in honoring Our Lady. All are welcome!
