Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, January 25 – January 30. The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2026 is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.” Catholic schools offer an education that combines Catholic faith and teachings with academic excellence and instilling the value of service to others, preparing students to be productive citizens and future leaders. Our school theme is "St. Gabriel Glows" to go along with our "Let Your Light Shine" theme for the year. We hope you will join us our fun activities the whole week long! February P-T-S Conferences
Dear St. Gabriel Families,
Parent–Teacher–Student Conferences are right around the corner, and we are looking forward to welcoming you and your student(s) for this important time of reflection and connection. Conferences will take place on Wednesday, February 11th from 1:30–7:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 12th from 8:00–11:00 a.m. As a reminder, students are required to attend the conference with their parents, and attendance will be recorded based on their participation.
We will once again be using the FACTS Family Portal for conference scheduling. The process is simple and convenient for families. Scheduling will open on Tuesday, February 3rd at noon and will remain open through Friday, February 6th. Because this is a first-come, first-served system, we encourage families to reserve their preferred time as soon as the scheduler opens. A link to the step-by-step guide for using the FACTS Conference Scheduler can be found here.
At St. Gabriel, we are proud to host student-led conferences, which give students a meaningful opportunity to take ownership of their learning. Before their conference, students spend time thoughtfully reflecting on their growth, challenges, and goals. During the conference, they share these reflections, showcase work samples, and talk through the goals they hope to achieve next. Parents are invited to listen during this segment, and then join the conversation with questions or insights afterward.
We believe this structure helps students build confidence, develop communication skills, and truly take charge of their growth. Most importantly, it reinforces the partnership between home and school that is so vital to student success. Thank you for supporting and encouraging your student as they prepare.
To help conferences run smoothly, we ask families to communicate any specific concerns to their teacher ahead of time. Conferences are scheduled for 15 minutes, and teachers must remain on time so that all families have their full opportunity. If more discussion is needed, please don’t hesitate to reach out to schedule a follow-up meeting.
If you have any questions about conference scheduling or need assistance navigating the FACTS Family Portal, please reach out to us at school@stgabriel.net or call 502-239-5535. We are happy to help.
We look forward to meeting with you and celebrating your child’s growth. Thank you, as always, for your partnership and the support you bring to our school community.
Warmly,
Jessica Lefevre
Instructional Support Specialist
February Conference Scheduler in FACTS will open Tuesday, February 3rd at noon.
Thank you to our families for working with us during carpool with the cold and snow. Here are some friendly reminders to keep everyone safe and things moving as quickly as possible:
Please respect school staff. They are there to keep you safe. We have hundreds of cars to manage, which only happens smoothly when everyone follows the rules.
Please drive slowly, especially in the back by the play park.
Please refrain from using your cell phone while driving.
If you are picking up a preschool student, please make sure that you are checked in before leaving your car to do so.
Please pull all the way up to the cones and pull in close to one another so we can maximize our space.
Make sure to use the app or at least have your number readily available.
If you are in wave 2, patiently remain in your car. Students are not allowed passed the cones.
