Spicy Lemon Baby Broccoli

I've been picking up baby broccoli at Trader Joes and spicing it up with a steam-sauté method. 


You will need:

  • A sauté pan and a matching lid (approximately matching, anyway)
  • One bunch of baby broccoli
  • One lemon, halved (have an extra lemon on hand just in case the fist one isn't juicy enough)
  • Chili flakes

In a sauté pan, gently sauté the chili flakes. After a minute or so, add the baby broccoli and sauté over low-medium heat until it softens a bit - about five minutes, unless you like it pretty firm. 

Squeeze the lemon halves into the sauté pan and quickly pop the lid on to steam through. I often turn off the heat at this point.

Sprinkle with a pinch of kosher salt and serve.
