Cranberry Sauce
No more can-shapped gelee! All hail the fresh cranberry!
INGREDIENTS
1 (12-ounce) package cranberries
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
Zest of one orange
Pinch of salt
2 T orange liqueur (Grand Marnier or Triple Sec)
METHOD
Bring water, sugar, zest and salt to a boil in a medium nonreactive saucepan. Stir occasionally. Boil 2-3 minutes, or until sugar is dissolved. Stir in cranberries and return to a boil. Reduce heat and add liqueur. Stir well and transfer to a bowl cool to room temperature and serve (or refrigerate for later service).
