Class Documents Panel

Imports

The default setting is StudentID.  Select Agency Settings from the person profile icon and then click the Detail panel to open.  The setting for your agency displays on the "TOPSProImportMatchSource"  row.  If this needs to be changed, contact Tech Support.

Agencies who export CASAS assessment data from TOPSPro to import to LACES student records should have only one ID on the import file.

Updates for the upcoming NRS table changes

Per the NRS, the NRS tables will be changed to allow additional sex reporting options and alternative ABE and ESL initial placement.  The table changes are NOT yet coded in LACES but they will be implemented prior to the end of the current FY.  In preparation for the tables changes, the following have been updated/added in the LACES ABE clients.

Sex Choice List

The NRS tables that report Sex will allow "No Answer" as a valid reporting option.  In preparation for the table changes, the Sex choice list has been updated in all ABE clients to display the following options for students, staff, tutors, contacts, donors, and volunteers.  Records with "Other" selected in the Sex field have been mapped to the option "Non-Binary or Other."  Client customized options were not changed.

The Non-Binary or Other option will continue to alternate Male or Female (originally added as part of Release 2022.5.0) for reporting on the SPR. The State and Local Performance "Participant Characteristics" search will continue to report Male / Female.

Alternative ABE Placement and Alternative ESL Placement Assessments

Alternative Assessments have been added that may be used to assign a student Entry Level for NRS reporting starting with the 2023-24 reporting year.  This allows a student to be initially placed on Tables 1, 3,  4, 4A, 4B, and 4C without an approved NRS assessment. The Alternative assessments are ONLY used to populate entry level, and only one alternative assessment may be entered.

The Alternative ABE and ESL Placement assessments are an opt-in feature and will ONLY display in clients who have opted-in to allow these assessments; if they do not display on the assessment list in your agency, then your state has NOT opted-in.

The score entered on the assessment card populates the level.
