2017.1.0

1/7/2017

This release did not affect legacy LACES. As a reminder, legacy LACES will be officially 'sunset' on 1/31/2017.

Reports

New Graphic Reports have been added to the student, class, staff, tutor, and group areas. An icon for 'Graphic Reports' has been added to the toolbar at these areas.

Assessments

1. The BADER assessment has been updated to allow a decimal in the scaled score field. This assessment is not NRS approved and does not populate an educational functioning level. Clients with customized assessments may not see this assessment on the assessment drop down list.

2. Best Literacy, Best Plus, and Best Plus 2.0 have been updated to allow a decimal in the scaled score fields for those subtests that are not level defining. The Total or Total Literacy scaled score on the assessment card populates the level and cannot include a decimal.

3. The GED Ready RH practice test has been added .

Views updated

1. The student enrollment views 'Enrollment' and 'Enrollment Grades' have been updated to include the IETP field.

2. The class enrollment views 'Enrollment Info' and 'Student Grades' have been updated to include the IETP field.

3. The student area view fields at the View Manager have been updated to only display fields that are visible in the client.

4. The view 'Instructor Contact' has been added to the group and workshop instructor tab.

Searches

1. An enrollment drop down list on the student 'Active/Enrolled' and 'Began Active/Enrolled' searches has been added to include:

  • Class Only
  • Pair Only
  • Group Only
  • Pair + Group
  • All

2. Enrollment searches have been added at the Tutor area. These searches allow you to search for tutor workshop enrollments.

3. 'No Value' and 'Has Value' have been added to the Grid Row Filter operators, and 'No Value' and 'Has Any Value' have been added to the search criteria builder (Add Search) operators. These allow you to search for fields that either have a value or any sort, or have no value (null).

Searching 'No Value'

1. Used to search fields where no data exists – the field is blank.

2. To run a ‘No value’ search at the grid or criteria builder, do not enter search data in the field, but simply select the operator.

Searching 'Has Value'

1. Used to search fields where data exists – the field is NOT blank. The operator is not looking for specific data, but any data that exists in a field.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Fields that contain 'No Value Entered' are NOT blank or null. 'No Value Entered' is an actual value. To find fields that contain 'No Value Entered' you must search for that particular value.

.

Fixes

1. The class area view manager field 'Students Dropout' was not updating in the view when the student enrollment status changed. This has been corrected.

Changes Related to WIOA

LiteracyPro will be gradually implementing changes to LACES that are related to WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) as information is obtained from OCTAE. Information about WIOA is available on the NRS and OCTAE websites. WIOA represents significant changes in how agencies will collect and report data beginning in the 16/17 fiscal year. It is important that you become familiar with the upcoming WIOA changes.

ABE and independent literacy agencies are affected by these changes made to LACES.

NRS Tables 1, 2, and 3 have been updated in this release

Running the new NRS tables

The new NRS tables for fiscal year 2016-2017 are not on the report manager but instead are located on the student NRS table searches. The searches for 2016-2017 tables have been updated to include the total rows and NRS instructions for completing the new tables.

1. Click the <Searches link at the student area.

2. Expand the NRS category.

3. Select one of the new tables - NRS tables 1, 2, or 3.

4. Select NRS FY 16-17 on the drop down list at the the 'Select Reporting System' field.

5. The new report will display. From here, you may print the report by clicking the Print icon at the top right.

6. Click any of the cells to drill down to the list of students populating the cell.
