Students

  1. The following fields located in the student assessment tab header previously populated data based on the entire fiscal year. The fields have been updated to populate data based on the student's PoP data.
    1. Assess Status in Subj Area:
      • Displays the assess status for the current PoP.
    2. Instr Hrs Since Last Assess in Subj Area:

Hours and posttest dates are the same

Hours are included in 'Instr Hrs Since Last Assess in Subject Area'

IMPORTANT REMINDER: The Subject Area, Entry Level, and Current Level fields in the student header also reflect the current PoP.

Student Searches

  1. The Outcomes->Employment for Followup search has been updated. This search will find students by PoP left date who do not have an employment record in the correct followup quarter. An additional column has been added to show when the student will report on Table 5 for employment outcomes. NRS reports are due in October for the previous FY. For example, reports due 10/2018 will report 17/18 data.

Fixes/Updates

  1. City and county names have been changed from all uppercase to Initial caps. This change was made for all clients based on feedback.
  2. There was an intermittent issue where the customized choice list items for the pair program, location, and pair keyword choice lists did not display correctly when creating a pair at the pair area. This did not affect all agencies since it was intermittent. This has been corrected.
  3. The drill down number on the Table 5, column B Median Earnings row did not return correct selection of students. This has been corrected.
  4. Volunteer hours were not saving when a specific keystroke was used when entering comments at the volunteer hours data chooser. This has been corrected.
  5. The postsecondary import may now be done at the All PoP Summary area. This is available at the state level SEA only.
  6. 'Location' was added to the default view at the All Student Enrollments area.
  7. PoPs from the previous FY where followup data was entered in the current FY prior to the release have been updated to display the data correctly in the PoP Summary record. (See #5 below in 'Changes Related to WIOA.')

Changes Related to WIOA

  1. Table 3 was updated in the previous release to allow students with an ABE entry level to display on the Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education row. This has since been clarified and corrected. Only students with an ESL entry level may count on this row. For additional information regarding Table 3, please go to Counting on the NRS Tables.
  2. Tables 1, 2, and 3 were not including students who are in a current FY PoP that continued from the prior FY, but who have not earned 12 instruction hours in the current FY. These tables have been corrected.
    1. How to find these students:
      1. Select 'Students by Number of PoPs' from the Graphic Reports list.
      2. Select the current FY at the Fiscal Year Filter, and click Save.
      3. Click the bar for students in One PoP.
      4. At the student grid, open Searches and expand the Hours category.
      5. Select the Hours Attended search, or click Add.
      6. Enter 12 in the 'who have at least x hours' field.
      7. Enter the date range you wish to search - typically the start and end date of the current FY.
      8. Click Apply.
      9. Change the search operator button on the Hours Attended tile until it changes to And Not.
      10. This will display the students who have a PoP with less than 12 hours, which is considered a continuing PoP.
  3. Table 4b will now count posttest gains in the non-tracked subject area.
  4. Students with the following selections in their Highest Ed Level Compl on Entry field are not eligible to achieve the SSD Outcome Measure on Table 5.
    • Secondary School Diploma or alternate credential
    • Secondary School Equivalent
    • Some Postsecondary education, no degree
    • Postsecondary or professional degree
  5. PoPs in the previous FY will now update based on data entered in the current FY. For example, a student whose PoP left date was 5/1/2017 (16/17) will be followed up for employment outcomes in the 17/18 FY. The 16/17 PoP will update accordingly.
  6. The PoP Summary/Measurable Outcomes record has been updated to display blank, No, or Yes in the Outcome Measure columns based on the following definitions:

Blank

No

Yes

  • The student is not eligible for a particular outcome.
  • The student has not been followed up yet for an employment outcome.
  • The student is eligible and evidence exists for a negative outcome, such as an unemployed work history record in the correct followup quarter.
  • The student is eligible for an outcome, but one for which there is no way to indicate a negative outcome. Ex. a student is eligible for the Enrolled Ed/Trng outcome but there is no way to indicate that the student did NOT enroll. The PoP column will display No unless the user enters a record indicating a positive outcome.
  • The student has been followed up for a particular outcome and has evidence to show a positive outcome, such as an employed work history in the correct followup quarter.
  • The student has a SSD or Postsecondary record as evidence that the student achieved the outcome.
