Information about this scabbard type
This scabbard type is made of heavy brass mounts and brown leather body. The throat mount has a very unusual scalloped edge facing the leather body. The leather body is curved to match the curvature of the blade.
Scabbard Type Variations
This rare scabbard was found on a Colt Model 1855 Revolving Rifle Bayonet. Little information is known about its origin.
