This white buff leather frog was made to carry a bayonet with a round or oval frog stud on the throat mount. It was found with an unidentified bayonet (ER# 1815) with a piece of the original scabbard still mounted in the frog.
I was made from a narrow single strap of white leather, doubled over and single stitched along the edges leaving the top 55 millimeters open for a belt loop. The leather was cut between the stitching to allow the scabbard body to pass between the layers and a hole was cut to accept the frog stud.
It is 160 millimeters long and 55 millimeters wide.
