This large double belt strap leather frog is believed to be US made and possibly pre-Civil War. It was made to carry a large bayonet or sword with a round or oval frog stud on the throat mount. The face side of this frog has a black lacquered finish. The two belt straps are folded over backward, stitched and riveted. The pocket face is double stitched to the base and has an oval stud hole in the middle.
The back side of this frog is brown unfinished leather. This frog is 240 millimeters long and 142 millimeters wide.
