US Brass Hilted Sword Bayonets

This small group of rare bayonets have a rather large and wide guide bar slot that is squared at the end.  It is possible that they were designed to accommodate a special made slide that was designed to to cover the hilt flat from pommel to muzzle ring to be used as a musician's sword.
