I am Tourmaline, a captivating mineral celebrated for my stunning array of colors and unique properties. From vibrant pinks and greens to deep blues and yellows, my hues span the spectrum, often within a single crystal. My name comes from the Singhalese word "turamali" which means "mixed colors" a perfect description of my kaleidoscopic beauty. Beyond my aesthetic allure, I possess fascinating properties like pyroelectricity and piezoelectricity. This means I can generate an electrical charge when subjected to heat or pressure. My dual nature of beauty and scientific intrigue makes me a prized gemstone among collectors, jewelry enthusiasts, and scientists alike. I am found in the Himalayan belts, Ajmer district of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and in Andhra Pradesh too. Thank you for visiting.
