Hello friends, Welcome to the  Rock   Repository at the Department of Geology, Shivaji Science College, Nagpur.

I am a Tourmaline Mica Schist, a metamorphic rock formed from the transformation of sedimentary rock through intense heat and pressure deep within the Earth's crust. My composition includes minerals such as quartz, mica, and tourmaline, giving me a distinct appearance and properties. My texture is often foliated, displaying layers of mica and other minerals that reflect light beautifully. Due to my unique composition, I am valued for my aesthetic appeal and can be used in decorative applications such as countertops, flooring, and sculptures. Additionally, my strong and durable nature makes me suitable for construction purposes like wall cladding and paving stones.
