Chris Dwyer

Christopher Ambrose Dwyer was born on December 20, 1948 in Cork, Ireland.

He registered his biggest success on Reside in the 1981 Carlisle Bell.

He served a seven-year apprenticeship with Staff Ingham at Epsom.

His first winner was Nahum at Lingfield on April 15, 1967.

He also rode over the hurdles, winning on Happy Guy.

He took a three-year job as work rider for Sir Michael Stoute and sat on the likes of Opera House and Saddlers' Hall.

In 1971, Chris renewed his apprentice indentures with Jimmy Etherington at Malton where he remained for the rest of his career.

Chris was married to Sylvia on September 18, 1971. They lived at 63, Langley Drive, Norton, Malton.

Chris was an excellent swimmer.

His riding days behind him, Chris turned to training and had six horses under his care at Georgia House in Burrough Green.
