Paul Evans

Paul David Evans, born 18 April, 1953, lived at 6, Empshott Place, Empshott, near Liss in Hants. and served three and a half years' apprenticeship with Mr D. G. Owen.

He later had a retainer with J. Stuart Evans and rode Uncle Sol - which he stated to be his best horse ridden - into second behind long odds-on Sea Tale in a Windsor Hurdle (31 January, 1973).

Riding as P.D. Evans, his career never really took off.

He rode for the last time at Sandown in the November of that year and, turning to training (under the name of David Evans), was most successful.
