Bill Escott

1893 - 1919

Bill Escott was born at Lewes, the son of father Harry & brother of Anthony.

He died as the result of La Releve falling at Auteuil on October 11, 1919.

Bill had his first ride in public in 1907.

Aged 16, he won on his very first ride over fences on Lord Rosmead at Portsmouth on May 5, 1909.

Bill died in Paris on October 13, 1919, and was buried at Chantilly. He left £3,516.

His best wins included victory in the 1912 Imperial Cup on Meridan.
