Andrew Neil David rode over jumps in the early 1990s and managed three wins. The first of those was at Warwick on January 13, 1990, when Monk’s Mistake took the lead at the last flight and was all out to beat Ganoon by a short head in the Sherbourne Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle.

He rode his second winner at Newton Abbot on August 29, 1990, this time registering a far more comfortable success on Bright Sapphire, trained by Dai Burchell, finishing 15 lengths clear at the end of the Bill Harris Conditional Jockeys’ Selling Handicap Hurdle.

After finishing over the same course on September 6, the pair ventured to Uttoxeter two weeks later, September 20, where they dead-heated for the Thorntons Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle with Shy Hiker, the mount of Dylan Meredith.
