Here is the agenda for our School Improvement Day on 9/13/22. Also, there will be sack lunches available to students. A flier as to how to order one was sent out to Kingsley families and students this week via Infinite Campus.

We will be having a brief faculty meeting in the IMC on 9/16 from 8:05 - 8:25. The topic of discussion will be the Standard Response Protocol drill on 9/21.

We are having our Standard Response Protocol Drill on Wednesday, Sept 21st from approximately 9:30 am to 11:00 am. We will be having a regular class schedule that day so please communicate amongst your team as to how you want to adjust classes as needed. We will be doing a full school evacuation and bussing to Eastview Christian Church and back, including a bus evacuation drill. We'll discuss more details on 9/16.

Cougar PRIDE continues and we have moved to "R" for the month of September! Please review the message from the Janel Sebeny, our PBIS Tier 1 coach, that was sent out on 9/8/22:

Attached you will find the Cougar PRIDE "R" for RESPECT lesson and the Locker Stop "Be on Time" lesson. When the PBIS Data Team met, tardies were the #1 infraction documented across the board. One suggestion was to review Locker Stop Expectations. Feel free to make these your own for your team and the specific needs and observations.

Please discuss how you would like to divide teaching these lessons on your academic teams over the next few weeks. We have some funky schedules coming up with the half-day on the 13th and the drill on the 21st, so we just ask these are reviewed by September 23.

Just a reminder that teachers are expected to take attendance every hour they have students on a roster. Administration will be following up with teachers who are struggling with this to help problem solve.

September is pretty loaded with district required assessments so we gather baseline data to make sure we are identifying students' needs and get them the proper interventions. Here's what that assessment calendar for KJHS currently looks like:

• 8/29 - 9/9: aMath/aReading testing window

• 9/16: Deadline for teams to hold aMath/aReading makeup sessions

• 9/20: aMath/aReading makeup session proctored by guidance

• 9/23: All aMath/aReading makeups should be completed

• 9/23: District writing assessment

• 9/26: mySAEBERS completed during advsiory

Thank you all for your attendance at this morning's faculty meeting. As was discussed, we will be starting official school wide use of infraction trackers on Tuesday, September 6th. In addition, CICO will be starting soon for students. Here is today's presentation for your review as needed.

Also, in response to the student safety incidents this week, administration will be sending out information for staff to share with students in advisory regarding "See Something, Say Something" as well as what is inappropriate to bring to school. We hope these resources will help our students make better decisions.

The Unit 5 Employee Benefit Portal has changed to Employee Navigator. Here is are the instructions as to how to set up your account.

The PNC First Grant program provides teachers the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to $750 to assist in the implementation of innovative and creative classroom projects that otherwise would not occur due to a lack of funding. Teachers are able to apply throughout the summer. The application link below is live and will close Sunday, September 18, 2022, at 11:59 pm.

Please review the COVID Exclusion Protocol as well as COVID policies on the KJHS Staff Dashboard. Here are the big take-aways...

1. Any staff or student who has tested positive for COVID-19 must stay home from school, inform the school, and wait to hear further instructions from the school.

2. Any staff or student who has been in close contact to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 is recommended to mask for 10 days and test on Day 5 (sooner if symptomatic).
