As we head into 4th quarter, which of the items below can you get better at?
Keep students in your classroom whenever possible. Do they really need to visit their locker?
Passes - When students leave your classroom, they must have a pass.
Consider a "no drop and go" policy. One year my team was battling tardies. There were too many students coming in, setting books down then needing to go get something then coming back tardy. We implemented a "no drop and go" policy across the team. This mean that once students came into our room, they stayed until the end of the hour. Yes, it was challenging and worth it.
If you have not logged into IAR, please do it now.
We're trading time. The Friday, 3.11, faculty meeting is cancelled. Why? So you can IAR train with Kim & Michel on March 16 using the following schedule.
8th grade - 1st hour in the IMC (Did I mention it's on March 16? Don't miss it.)
7th grade - 2nd hour in the IMC (Did I mention it's on March 16? All the cool kids are coming.)
6th grade - 3rd hour in the IMC (Did I mention it's on March 16? I wonder if there will be snacks?!)
Exploratory & P.E. - 4th hour in the IMC (Did I mention it's on March 16? I wonder if there will be beverages?!)
Music & P.E. - 8th hour in the IMC (Did I mention it's on March 16? There will be good company that's for sure!)
If you see any concerns with the IAR schedule, please contact Stacie.
If you know in advance of an absence during IAR testing or something unexpectedly comes up, please enter the absence as typical & email Stacie. Why email Stacie? So we can quickly begin working out a certified staff member who can proctor the session.
No Advisory during IAR Week
Teams - If you create an altered schedule for IAR testing days, email the schedule to Kim, Barb, Val, Jennifer & Stacie.
If it's your lucky semester, get your BOC nomination in by this Wednesday, 3.16. How do you know if it's your semester? Jen Ritchason sent you an email.
U5 volunteers need to be screened once every 12 months. They do not need to be vaccinated or provide testing results.
As you begin planning end of the year activities, if an adult is going to volunteer, please follow this process.
Check with Barb Eaton to see if the person is already on the approved volunteer list at least 3 weeks in advance.
If they are not on the approved list, Barb will help them through the volunteer screening process.
Who needs to be screened? Volunteers who work with students during the school day or work directly with students during a club after/before school.
Who does not need to be screened? People attending a celebration, concession workers, or attending an after school event.
If you aren't sure, air on the side of caution & have them screened.
