A portion of the information shared with families to introduce Rachel is below.
"Ms. Skelton is an ISU & Bradley alum. Bradley alum?! If you are wondering if she cheers for Bradley or ISU, let me share more. Ms. Skelton was part of the Big Red Marching Machine & you will find her in the ISU cheering section for all Redbird sports. October is around the corner & her two black cats, Evie & Bela are ready for Halloween fun."
P.S. Her last name is "Skelton"....that's so close to "skeleton." What a cool name for a science teacher! & no, that was not shared with parents. :-)

Subs have been given U5 email addresses & we have 10 devices to provide substitute teachers.
When you have a sub, this enables you to keep your laptop with you.
How will a sub know how to link the device to the projector? These directions have been added to your sub folders.
If you have Spirit wear that you no longer want/wear, please consider donating it to our Student Services area. Deliveries can be made to David Ghantous in the back office of Guidance.
Also, we're looking for gently used clothing items such as pants (sweats, leggings, jeans, etc) for females & males. We've also needed size large and extra large Ts for a few students but have run out. You can drop these off to David Ghantous too.
It was good to have honest conversation, clarify some procedures & explore some solutions last Tuesday morning. SOS notes are here.
We will do it again this Tuesday in the IMC from 8-8:25a.m. We can continue this weekly, move it to a couple times a month, etc. We can reach group consensus on Tuesday morning on what we need to keep moving forward positively.
To keep students moving in the hallway, the phrase "Walk & Talk" has echoed our halls for years.
When Nurse O'Brien knows of a confirmed positive case, we print the student's schedule & an administrator accesses the seating chart for each class using the seating chart master.
An administrator then visits each area to evaluate & measure the area around where the positive case has occurred to develop a tentative list of close contacts.
We then look at attendance records for all potential close contacts to confirm they were in attendance on the dates of concern. Next we phone all families, print required documentation & directions for them, and greet stressed families as they arrive, helping them process the timelines, make up work routines, and safety considerations.
Sometimes this takes at least an hour or more for each case....all the while our typical ups & downs of the school day occur.
Your accurate & updated seating charts are super helpful. Thank you for taking those extra steps! We appreciate your patience Please know that we so appreciate your patience & understanding while the office juggles these tasks.
