I have noticed more students carrying passes in the hallway. THANK YOU! This helps us know who to address for being in the hallway & who has permission.
Some teachers have shared that they are returning to a past team-based policy of "no drop & go." This translates into "once you are in the room, students remain in the room."

IT will be at KJHS on 12.2.21 to help with 2-Factor Authentication set up. Based on the 11.16 email from IT, all staff are required to complete this by 12.17/Winter Break.

The Advisory Task Force group met last week & wanted to share the following.
"In addition to following and utilizing the planned Advisory lessons, certified staff with Advisory groups are allowed and encouraged to be responsive to what students are seeing and hearing from their student groups. This might include:
Extensions of PBIS
Issues happening in school
Issues happening in society
Issues on the Team
Read Alouds.
Please continue to make sure all staff members that are part of an Advisory Team stay connected (either in-person or electronically) so that everyone knows what the plans for Advisory are each week, and they know where to find and access materials being used.

Tell Me More About Contact Tracing
When Nurse O'Brien knows of a confirmed positive case, we print the student's schedule & an administrator accesses the seating chart for each class using the seating chart master.
An administrator then visits each area to evaluate & measure the area around where the positive case has occurred to develop a tentative list of close contacts.
We then look at attendance records for all potential close contacts to confirm they were in attendance on the dates of concern. Next we phone all families, print required documentation & directions for them, and greet stressed families as they arrive, helping them process the timelines, make up work routines, and safety considerations.
Sometimes this takes at least an hour or more for each case....all the while our typical ups & downs of the school day occur.
Your accurate & updated seating charts are super helpful. Thank you for taking those extra steps! We appreciate your patience Please know that we so appreciate your patience & understanding while the office juggles these tasks.

When: Tuesdays from 11:15a.m. - 12:35 p.m.
Who:
6th graders: At the very beginning of their lunch hour
7th graders: Dismiss from 4th hour at 11:45 a.m.
8th graders: During tutorial or at the very beginning of their lunch hour
Staff: Come to the front of the line from 11:15 a.m. - 12:35 p.m.
Where : The North Lobby
Helpful Info:
Eating or chewing gum an hour prior to the test, makes the test invalid.
How will you know your results? In this case, no news if good news! If you are positive, Michelle Lamboley will notify staff. Jennifer O'Brien notifies students.
