On 4.14 & 4.21, these remote students are IAR testing & cannot attend synch classes.
Brandan has been nominated for the NCBEA (North Central Business Edu Assoc.) Emerging Professional Award. This is an annual award given to a K-12 business educator that has shown outstanding contributions to the field (of business education) within their first 5 years of teaching. It is awarded to one business educator each year within the north central region that encompasses the states of IL, IN, IA, MI, MN, MO, OH, and WI. Bravo Brandan!
I have visited classrooms of 5 teams to talk with & present mascot transition information to students. The final team will wrap up on Monday & Tuesday. It was great to have remote students join in or have the option to join in most groups.

The staff Mascot Transition Committee is meeting on 4.21 @8a.m.
A ballot for the new mascot will be shared with staff and students late next week (the 4.26 week). Our new mascot for 21-22 will be shared the first week of May.
Thanks to everyone for handing out Cav Cash & to Brandan & the B.E.L.T. students for innovating a new opportunity! Brandan shared that students spent $2,511 Cav Cash on Friday.
A shout out to Danny & the Digital Media students for creating the intro video & to Craig & the Tier 1 PBIS committee for continued efforts to launch the store.
Kingsley was selected as the site for general education summer school.
Given Chiddix is undergoing geothermal, Parkside is hosting summer school for SpEd students & Evans...location, location...we were the best option.
In the next week, we will have a better understanding for their needs & determine which rooms will be need to be used.

Staff Style: A big thanks to Jen Ritchason for organizing The Masked Cavalier! Many people have smiled thanks to Jen & our fun-loving staff participants!
Who are those last two singers?! Watch The Masked Cavalier-Final Unmasking & enjoy!
Student Style: In the final unmasking email to students, we will invite students to join in season 2 of The Masked Cavalier, Student Style. Please spread the word.
Students can perform any talent. Their talent can be singing but does not need to be.
Students should create a school-appropriate masked character including covering face, hands, etc.
Students will share their up to 30-second talent video & up to 15-second unmasking by April 29 via a Google Form that will be linked in the email.
The student-style show will be shared the week of May 10. Students will vote for the order in which unmasking occurs. Depending on the number of entries, we will decide the number of episodes....it may be one episode with one unmasking or more.
The district-wide advisory planning committee has been formed. They have had a couple meetings & will meet again on 4.21.21. Have questions? Diana Pullins is representing KJ.

Staff Symptoms & Guidance (updated March 2021) Staff who are fully vaccinated (a minimum of 14 days AFTER the 2nd/last vaccine in the series) can be exempt from quarantine if a family member has symptoms, as long as they do not have any symptoms. Staff can report to work as long as they provide a copy of their vaccination card to you for verification.
Staff Covid Reporting Form: Staff who are exposed to a positive case and would be considered a close contact should still fill out the staff reporting form even if fully vaccinated (a minimum of 14 days AFTER the 2nd/last vaccine in the series) so the monitoring team can determine if quarantine is necessary based on the criteria.
We need to continue self-certifying wellness.
