The Great KJHS Elf Hunt begins on Monday, December 12 and runs through Friday, December 16th. Each day, the office staff will hide 6 elf pics around the school. If you find one, bring it to the office to redeem it for a prize. Limit one prize per staff member for the duration of the Elf Hunt. Good luck to all!
As part of the January 3rd Institute, the district will be providing an equity training session along with a collaboration and application session in the afternoon at Kingsley Junior High School. Everyone will attend the equity training with their building's administrators and trainers. They will also have a choice as to what collaboration and application session they sign up for so please take a moment to review the session information in the sign-up form linked below and complete by the end of the day on Tuesday (December 13th) next week.

We are still looking for tutors for the Gap Attack program. The program plan has evolved over the last week or so. We are now looking at offering sessions on Tuesdays & Thursdays after school from 3:45 - 4:45 pm from January 10th - April 27th. You do not need to be available for all sessions in order to be a tutor.
Hello, December! I don't know about you, but this time of year I struggle with fresh ideas to keep my students motivated before break - - especially if I am introducing new content. This 3-minute video shares four ways to get our writers thinking in a low-stakes way. I am going to try the "What Do I Know" strategy as we move into academic vocabulary with our Informative Unit. Happy Friday!

The latest security update to students' Chromebooks logs students out every time they close their Chromebooks. They will need to log back in each time.
There are going to be several books arriving that have been donated to give to students. If you are interested in perusing these books when they arrive, please let Elisa know.
The office is not open until 7:45 am and we use the time from 7:30-7:45 am to problem solve around sub shortages and other issues for the day. The number of students asking to be buzzed in is before 7:45 am is increasing and become an additional stressor for office staff. Over the next week, we will be looking at ways to address this issue. Any solutions you can share would be helpful. Thanks!
