During the week of Veterans Day, we would like to celebrate Veterans in the Kingsley community. Students will feel pride when we feature U.S. Veterans in their family by displaying our thanks, basic service information & photos during student lunches.
Can we feature a Veteran in your family? If so, please email Barb Eaton their name, branch, service years &/or rank & a photo.

From U5 Tech: Students should not be putting stickers on district owned devices. They may leave residue or marks on the cover. The family could be charged a damage fee if the cover has to be replaced.

What is the schedule per grade? Thank you to Courtney & Diana who collaboratively created the schedule with me.
7th grade - 1st Hour, Team Teachers:
8:50-Classes go to the cafeteria.
8:55-Author begins presentation
8:55-9:25-Author presentation
9:25-9:32-Classes go back to rooms. Students who have author's book can remain in cafe for autographs. If we run out of time, students will leave books with us & Courtney will deliver the books to students later.

10:30-Classes go to the cafeteria with items they need for lunch today.

11:05-11:07--Classes will remain in cafe for lunch. Students who have author's book will get autographs as time allows. If we run out of time, students will leave books with us & Courtney will deliver the books to students later.
Lunch with the Author
The author's contract allows for 10 students total at one time. We will share the exact time for this multi-grade lunch once we lock that down with the author. Courtney will be sending invites to these students with information included about lunch.

Thank you to all who provided input & insights for Data Day. All Cycle 2 Interventions begin Monday, 10.25.21. We are still working on entering schedules into IC. Who is going into & out of intervention? Check who is going in & out can be discovered on the "Cycle 2" & going out on the "going into" tab.
What happens after Data Day?
Academic Interventions: As Data Day wraps up, I will create a schedule in collaboration with our Coaches & Academic Interventionists then I will inform families of student's entering intervention. Interventionists will celebrate success with families whose student is exiting intervention. Counselors will alter student schedules then we will begin as soon as possible.

Tell Me More About Contact Tracing
When Nurse O'Brien knows of a confirmed positive case, we print the student's schedule & an administrator accesses the seating chart for each class using the seating chart master.
An administrator then visits each area to evaluate & measure the area around where the positive case has occurred to develop a tentative list of close contacts.
We then look at attendance records for all potential close contacts to confirm they were in attendance on the dates of concern. Next we phone all families, print required documentation & directions for them, and greet stressed families as they arrive, helping them process the timelines, make up work routines, and safety considerations.
Sometimes this takes at least an hour or more for each case....all the while our typical ups & downs of the school day occur.
Your accurate & updated seating charts are super helpful. Thank you for taking those extra steps! We appreciate your patience Please know that we so appreciate your patience & understanding while the office juggles these tasks.

When: Tuesdays from 11:15a.m. - 12:35 p.m.
Who:
6th graders: At the very beginning of their lunch hour
7th graders: Dismiss from 4th hour at 11:45 a.m.
8th graders: During tutorial or at the very beginning of their lunch hour
Staff: Come to the front of the line from 11:15 a.m. - 12:35 p.m.
Where : The North Lobby
Helpful Info:
Eating or chewing gum an hour prior to the test, makes the test invalid.
How will you know your results? In this case, no news if good news! If you are positive, Michelle Lamboley will notify staff. Jennifer O'Brien notifies students.
