Conference schedule due to Jennifer Dierkes
If you use one video conferencing link all day, include it with your schedule to Jennifer. If you want to use a different video conferencing link for every meeting, you will need to create links and share them directly with families.
Please include your 30-minute lunch & two 15 minute breaks in your schedule.
1.8, 8a.m. Conference scheduler opens for families
As in the past, a week before conferences, Jennifer will email you updates of families who have signed up.
1.22, 8a.m.-4p.m. Virtual Family-Teacher Conferences
Use a single Meets with teachers in Breakout rooms. One team teacher will be in the main room to greet families then move them into breakout rooms at their scheduled conference time.
Create a virtual student-led conference format.
To begin virtual conferences, invite families to share a strength and a growth area that they see in their child.
Virtual communication is different. Use breakout rooms with a team teacher in each room to facilitate better virtual communication. One person will monitor the main room and move family members into individual teacher breakout rooms
Develop a Google Form to let families submit questions. These questions can be answered prior to or instead of a conference.
Dennis emailed attendance guidance on Friday, 12.4. If you have attendance questions, please contact him. Below is a summary of the email.
Accurate Attendance = If a student is present for the majority of a virtual class, they are present. If they do not attend but complete their work in a reasonable amount of time, email Kim Mattocks to change their attendance to present. ts who turn in work within a reasonable amount of time.
Tutorial = Attendance is not mandatory for a student's tutorial period and should not be marked absent. Each time a teacher marks a student absent in tutorial, Kim Mattocks must go in and manually change that student's attendance.
Weekly Team List = Each team may choose a designee to submit a weekly list of students to me who are absent and not completing class assignments by the end of the day Friday. This is not required but will help us contact families.
Wellness Concerns = Please reach out to the student's appropriate counselor. (Kim Johnson has A - K and Michel Carter has L-Z)
Data/documentation from Infinite Campus will be updated in the KJHS Attendance Tracker by the administration and/or counselors weekly during remote instruction.
