Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available for free 24/7/365 to Unit 5 employees and family at 1-800-433-7916. If you've considered talking to a professional, free is a good price.
Please note the following from Dan Lamboley and Janel Sebeny, Middle School Language Arts District Chair:
LA Teachers - By 2/18, the next AIMSWeb screener will need to be given, scored, and added to EduClimber. Please provide the LBS1 on your team with the names of students who flag on the winter writing screener as soon as possible so they are able to administer, score, and enter Writing Diagnostic scores into EduClimber by March 4th.
Janel emailed the prompts & scoring guides previously.
Carmen Bergmann & Marten Renton were schedule to visit Kingsley on 1.7, our e-Learning day. We are working on rescheduling & will update you once we have a new date.
1.31.22 ~ Carmen Bergmann & Martin Renten will be at Kingsley teaching Demo Lessons for staff to observe. More details next week. :-)
During 1.12 Late Start, from 8:15-9:30, an optional, virtual Nearpod training will be held. It will focus on LA & L&C but is open to all.
What will the training entail? Teachers will build a lesson from Google Slides/Nearpod for student learning. Interactive slides will be developed to provide real time feedback to help guide focused learning opportunities for students. Teachers will also learn about the reporting features and how to display student information while running a lesson.

When Nurse O'Brien knows of a confirmed positive case, we print the student's schedule & an administrator accesses the seating chart for each class using the seating chart master.
An administrator then visits each area to evaluate & measure the area around where the positive case has occurred to develop a tentative list of close contacts.
We then look at attendance records for all potential close contacts to confirm they were in attendance on the dates of concern. The nurse considers students who are vaccinated. Next we phone all families, print required documentation & directions for them, and greet stressed families as they arrive, helping them process the timelines, make up work routines, and safety considerations.
Sometimes this takes at least an hour or more for each case....all the while our typical ups & downs of the school day occur.
Your accurate & updated seating charts are super helpful. Thank you for taking those extra steps! We appreciate your patience Please know that we so appreciate your patience & understanding while the office juggles these tasks.
