Hi everyone,
As we reflect on the week, we want to congratulate you on a successful 1st quarter PBIS Celebration. Kudos to the PBIS Celebration Committee for their excellent planning and communication! We are especially thankful for the revamping of the comeback rooms and your efforts to coach those students to make better choices. We also want to say how energizing it is to visit your classrooms and see the excellent instruction that is occurring. From budding archaeologists to social justice warriors to young authors, you are bringing out excellence in your students every day. Thank you for dedication to their learning!

As we did last year, we are asking KJHS grade level teams to choose dress up themes for Tuesday, October 31st, in lieu of individual student costumes . Staff members not on a grade level team can either choose a theme with their staff team or use the theme of the grade level team with whom they teach advisory. If your team does not want to choose a dress up theme, feel free to wear your favorite fall flannel and encourage students to do the same. School dress code guidelines are expected to be followed as usual. We will send a message out to KJHS families this week regarding Halloween dress.
The focus of October's PBIS lesson is on integrity and the top two infractions- disruptions and disengagement. Core teachers, if you did not do so last week, please find time this week to teach the lesson. While PBIS created these slides for the whole school, please always feel free to tailor them to fit your team's style and needs.
KJHS will be converting over to using Alpha Controls for climate control of the building. Administration will provide updates as the system is implemented.
In keeping with out "Celebration" Theme this year, we encourage you to acknowledge your fellow KJHS educators through a "Kingsley Kudos". Each week we will acknowledge those staff members who receive a Kudos and all recipients will be entered into a monthly drawing. Ready to give a Kingsley team mate a Kudos? Complete the Kingsley Kudos form.
Just a reminder that 10/13 was the end of the 1st quarter and, as such, we are resetting tardy counts. Please start tardy counts over on Monday, October 16.

Please be conscientious about running copies or coming into the main office to ask questions prior to 8:00 am. We are usually busy preparing for the day and are happy to meet your needs after 8:00 am.
