Celebrating YOU by grilling out was so much fun last week that our awesome Social Committee set up another yummy treat!

Curbside Grillin' will set up in the bus lane this Tuesday. Yum yum!!

Last Friday, we test ran our first set of goodie bag delivery using the custom maps for Remote-only learners.

Some PTO members have offered to help with delivery. If you would like to deliver goodie bags too, please email Stacie.

What if students don't come to school on 5.27.21?
- Next week, we will deliver two containers - one for devices & one for chargers - to each Team. Students who tell you they are leaving early for summer can add their device & charger to the box. If the box is heavy, please email Darrin so one of the custodians can carry it to the office for you.

A quick note on how we're already connecting with our 21-22 6th graders.

Last week, counselors & I hosted 12 virtual Meets with all in-person & remote 5th graders who could attend. An asynch video was shared for those who could not attend.
Instead of hosting our "Welcome to Kingsley" large-scale night, an asynch website was created very similar to what was done last year.

Welcome for Remote-Only Students

Kick Start: If you would like to be a part of Kick Start, an early August welcome for internalizing 6th graders, please email Stacie.

Welcome for Remote-Only Students: Some of our fully remote students will not have attended school in-person for 1 1/2 years when we begin school next August. If you would like to help plan & lead a short, welcome orientation for your grade-level in August, please email Stacie.

Season 2

Season 2 of The Masked Cavalier, Student Style will premiere later this week. We will have one episode & the unmasking video will be shared next week.

Students will vote for the order in which unmasking occurs.

Personal Days reminder

It's that time of year! :-)

Personal day request are popular in April & May. A few reminders from the certified staff contract, section "10.1.2 Personal Leave."

"No reason other than personal is to be given when taking a personal leave day."
"In the months of April, May & June, no more than 3 bargaining unit members or 5% of the homebased staff per building, whichever is greater, may be absent on any given day (including restrictions above) due to personal leave." For KJHS, 5% is 4 certified staff.
Personal days may be used in 1/2 day and full day increments.
Personal leave may not be taken the last 5 days of school without approval through HR.

- Staff Symptoms & Guidance (updated March 2021) Staff who are fully vaccinated (a minimum of 14 days AFTER the 2nd/last vaccine in the series) can be exempt from quarantine if a family member has symptoms, as long as they do not have any symptoms. Staff can report to work as long as they provide a copy of their vaccination card to you for verification.
- Staff Covid Reporting Form: Staff who are exposed to a positive case and would be considered a close contact should still fill out the staff reporting form even if fully vaccinated (a minimum of 14 days AFTER the 2nd/last vaccine in the series) so the monitoring team can determine if quarantine is necessary based on the criteria.
- We need to continue self-certifying wellness.
