soul is the (spiritual) (heart) of a person;
soul = (Hebrew) (NPSh) = (Geek) (PSYHE) = person himself or herself = (spiritual) (heart) of a person;
soul is the person
soul (is) the person himself or herself as the Bible says in (Genesis 2:7) and (Genesis 12:5) and (Genesis 14:21) and (Genesis 17:14) and (Genesis 46:26) and (Exodus 1:5) and (Acts 7:14) and (1 Peter 3:20) and many other places;
we are souls who have bodies as said below;
soul is the spiritual heart
Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew Lexicon entry for heart (leb) and Thayer's Greek Lexicon entry for heart (kardia) both correctly claim that the (spiritual) (heart) of a person is in fact soul;
(spiritual) (heart) is the most important part of a person and therefore represents the entire person as the Bible says in (Proverbs 4:23) and (Matthew 5:8) and (Matthew 6:21);
if soul is the person and (spiritual) (heart) is the person then soul is the (spiritual) (heart);
soul is in (blood) as the Bible says in (Genesis 9:4) and (Leviticus 17:11) and (Leviticus 17:14);
we know that our (blood circulation) is a closed vessel and our blood is inside that vessel and our physical heart is the most important part of that vessel;
the physical heart represents the entire (blood circulation) and is the symbol of the (spiritual) (heart) because the (blood) of (Jesus) connects us directly to the (spiritual) (heart) of God as the Bible says in (Matthew 5:8) and (Acts 13:22) and (Romans 3:25) and (Ephesians 1:7);
if soul is in blood and the blood is in physical heart and the physical heart is the symbol of the (spiritual) (heart) then this confirms that the soul is the (spiritual) (heart);
the expression "with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind" is a Hebrew (parallelism) where the words "heart" and "soul" and "strength" and "mind" are in fact synonyms as the Bible says in (Deuteronomy 6:5) and (Luke 10:27);
we know that soul is strength because without soul the physical body is dead and has no strength to do anything;
we know that soul is mind because the (Geek) word for soul (psyche) and (psychology) and (mind) directly relate to each other;
the expression "one heart and soul" is another Hebrew (parallelism) where the words "heart" and "soul" are synonyms as the Bible says in (Acts 4:32);
soul may have a body
we are souls who have bodies:
in early October 1881, Rev. Dr. R. Thornton presented a paper at the Church of England’s Church Congress in New Castle, during which he said: “we should have taught more carefully than we have done, not that men are bodies and have souls, but that they are souls and have bodies”; his lecture was apparently printed in The Guardian shortly thereafter, from which it was reproduced in other publications over the next few weeks: in Light: A Journal Devoted to the Highest Interests of Humanity, both Here and Hereafter, in The Medium and Daybreak, and (partially) in Morning Light.(source: firstthings.com);this does not mean that our bodies are worthless;
in fact it is not possible to respect a soul without respecting his or her body;
if we do something evil to a body then we sin against the soul of the body;
if we take away from a body something that it needs or if a body needs something we abundantly have and not give to the body then we sin against the soul of the body;
if the physical body of a soul dies then the soul does not cease to exist but will go to the hell or to the paradise or remain in this world without body and in that sense the soul is (immortal) as the Bible says in (Matthew 10:28) and (Luke 16:23) and (Luke 23:43) and (Revelation 6:9) and (Revelation 20:4);
soul is a spirit
if soul is the (spiritual) (heart) as said above then the soul himself or herself also must be a spirit;
Stephen being stoned to death asked (Jesus) to receive his spirit because the spirit contained also his soul as the Bible says in (Acts 7:59);
if a soul is said to have a spirit then the spirit is an angel of the soul because both are in fact spirits as the Bible says in (1 Thessalonians 5:23) and (Hebrews 1:14);
if a soul lives in a mortal physical body then the soul is bound to the body but the angels of the soul are free to leave and return as often as the soul allows as the Bible says in (Psalm 119:25) and (Matthew 18:10) and (Acts 12:15);
if an evil soul is contrasted to a good spirit then the soul needs to repent that God may give him or her a new good nature by the Holy Spirit as the Bible says in (1 Corinthians 15:45) and (Hebrews 4:12) and (James 3:15);
(death) of a soul or (spiritual death) in the bad sense is the separation of the soul from the love of God as the Bible says in (Ezekiel 18:20) and (Matthew 10:28);
soul does not cease to exist even in the (spiritual death) and in that sense the soul is (immortal) as the Bible says in (Mark 9:48) and (Revelation 14:11) and (Revelation 20:10);
(death) of a soul in the good sense is the separation of the soul from (sin) as the Bible says in (Romans 6:11);
every (sin) is a spirit and comes from the (soul) or (spiritual heart) of the person who first does that sin as the Bible says in (Genesis 6:5) and (Ezekiel 18:20) and (Matthew 15:19);
that sin is (contagious) and may (spread) to other persons as well and so to become a (collective) sin as the Bible says in (Jeremiah 23:15) and (Romans 5:19);
(the Beast) originally comes from the great sea or the (souls) of (evil) people that the four winds of heaven or the (angels) of (Satan) stir up as the Bible says in (Isaiah 57:20) and (Daniel 7) and (Apocalypse 13);
(the Beast) is a spirit because later he comes up from (Abyss) that is now a temporary prison for demons where no (flesh) would survive as the Bible says in (Genesis 1:2) and (Luke 8:31) and (Apocalypse 11:7) and (Apocalypse 17:8);
human (soul) and the (Abyss) are similar to each other in that both may contain demons or (evil) spirits;
human (soul) is the (spiritual) (heart) of the human and (Abyss) is the (spiritual) (heart) of the Earth as the Bible says in (Matthew 12:40);
last trumpets and sinkholes are signals of transition between this world and the next and they both echo sounds of the soul (source: Matt Marriott);
sinkholes are the symbols of the pit of (Abyss) as the Bible says in (Revelation 9:1);
