Volunteers - Jim Baker, Mike Ball, Al Batts, Bob Boorsma, Jerry Bush, Del Carpenter, Dick Chambers, Connie DeJong, Les Dewey, Ron Elzinga, Don Feutz, Don Mayton, Art Meidema, Dick Saddler,
Attached are the photos that Al again has taken of the work being done on the 56X Buick. The first photo in this series shows Art and Connie working on the front inner fender preparing it for final priming. You will also further work on the two inner fenders on the second set of photos Al has taken.
You will see in this set of photos further work on the chassis assembly. Work is being done to make brackets to support the radiator and the fan shroud. Although this will end up to be temporary it is necessary to assemble a running chassis to check out everything before the final mounting of a complete body.
These photos show further work on the under body with Dick Chambers. Also there was a crew of workers, Don Feutz, Don Mayton, and Phil Zeidema working cleaning up the "Kelsey Hayes" wire spoke wheels. Once we check out the running chassis these wheels will be shipped out for new spokes as well as a re-chrome job.
The chassis photos shows further work here with Del, Ron, Jerry, and others. Also Bob not pictured has been disassembling the cowl of the original rotted out body to remove all the components for restoration. The entire instrument panel must be removed and restored as it is very unique with a tachometer, special blue tint on the center horizonal portion of the instrument panel, and above this section the instrument panel is padded.
The tachometer is driven via a cable off of a gear box on the rear of the generator.
