56XBUICK SESSION MARCH 5 2013
Here are the photos of the Buick 56X work session.
Al Batts proceeded with his photograph history until the battery in his camera decided it wanted charged. That is why there are only 3 photos this week. Al then spent time working on our photograph files to get them in order. These photo file books are consulted every work day.
Photo #1 Here Art and Chuck are looking over what still must be done to get the custom rear bumper ready for chrome plating. This rear bumper has lots of dings, bumps, as well as rust through. So the team you see in this photo are finishing up some more detail that needs to be taken care of. Del is standing by to lend his advice. Dick Saddler also worked with the others on this bumper
Photo # 2 shows the head light bezels being repaired for the chrome plating process. Of the four bezels that we have we will prepare all of them and then take the best two to the chrome plating shop. Don M. is working on these.
Photo #3 shows some of the convertible top mechanism that Jerry Bush has been gathering up to see how much repair is necessary.
After council from Larry Faloon (GM stylist working for VP Bill Mitchell) we have discovered that the non-chrome links should be painted blue. In addition the convertible top material should match the color of the lighter of the two tone blue of the car.
Don continued working on the head light bezels.
Chuck also continued to fit parts that will mimic the final seat position and give him an idea of how the center console will look and its size. Chuck also worked at preparing parts for the foot pads and their foundation.
Jim Baker continues to work on the rotating seat mechanism.
