1956X WORK SESSION MARCH 20, 2012

VOLUNTEERS - Al Batts, Jim Baker, Jerry Bush, Dick Chambers, Connie DeJong, Ron Elzinga, Don Feutz, Don Mayton, Art Meidema, Dick Saddler, Chuck Snow,

We have discussed in the past the many "signatures" that VP of GM Styling had to place in the cars that he had done in the GM Styling Studio. After months of work, hours and hours, of constructing and sanding and then final chrome plating we now have some of those special interior "signatures" completed on the 1956X Buick. The photographs included show the driver's floor parts that include the chromed accelerator pedal mounted on the chrome heel rest which is attached to the grill of the foot pad. In addition is the chromed brake, emergency brake and dimmer switch pedals. The right front passenger also has a chromed heel rest with a grill work. The rear seat passengers also have a grill work without the heel rest. When the car is done between each of the small horizontal 1/8" chromed rods is foam rubber covered with a vinyl floor material matching the blue color of the carpeting.

The photos show detail work in preparation of taking the parts to the chrome plater. The very long part is 75" long and is the sweep spear on the right side of the right 1/4 panel.
