Al again taking the photographs for our restoration history. This provides a visual record of all the work done.

Chuck has completed the assembly of the under body lights for illuminating the ground when either the right of left doors are opened. The photos show the light bulb socket location. The next stage is doing inside and outside painting of these parts. The outside was in red and the inside in white. Also we have a lens to have made and then rubber sealing.

Art and Connie are doing more body work so that when we can be ready for final painting next spring.

There is a lot of trim work going on so all of these parts must be fitted prior to the car being painted.

Ron has been preparing the bumper bombs for the chrome plater. This is slow work as there are a lot of imperfections in the original stampings. In addition these had to be modified as the originals, badly rusted, were modified to accept the driving lights. Dick Saddler has been working on the entire front bumper that has a lot of surface rusted pitting. We are finding out what grinders, grits, and flap wheels work the best.

Don F. has concentrated on the many small parts. I will be taking the center "1956X" emplem to the chrome plater this weekend. He is now working on the front fender top "gun sights". When we got this car I assumed that these gun sights were production pieces from another year Buick. Through investigation I cannot find any "gun sights" that match the two on this car.

Don M. has been working on the location of the "CENTURY" scripts that is located on the rear 1/4 panels. This "CENTURY" script is 1/3 larger than the original production parts.

Jim continues to refine the rotating bucket seat mechanism.

Del and Ron headed over to the transmission shop and picked up the running chassis. The transmission had to have a very bad oil leak repaired.

We are restoring one piece at a time. I thank all those that continue to work on this unique 1956 Buick.
