56 X BUICK WORK SESSION MARCH 6 2012

Volunteers: Jim Baker, Al Batts, Jerry Bush, Del Carpenter, Dick Chambers, Connie DeJong, Ryan DeVries, Ron Elzinga, Don Feutz, Don Mayton, Art Meidema, Dick Saddler, Chuck Snow.

Jim worked on setting limits on the rotating power passenger bucket seat. He has accomplished not only 180 degrees but more than that. So he had to establish limits on his power mechanism.

The photos and the photo archives are by Al and his trusty camera.

Jerry worked with Don Feutz doing the last welding and finishing on the parade boot latches.

Del and Dick Chambers started the day by installing the rebuilt and painted power steering pump unit.

Next you will see Dick doing some board sanding on one of the front fenders.

Connie and Art continued working on small parts that needed to be prepared for priming and painting. They also started working on the underside of the hood to do the final black paint. Chuck worked on the hood also by removing the center trim piece. This trim will ultimately be painted the light blue upper body color.

You will notice two photos of the right rear sweep spear part. This part was completely missing from the car due to a prior accident by one of the previous owners. Ryan DeVries made this part from a 1/4" X 9" X 75" piece of solid brass. He took the good left piece as a pattern. We debated about doing it with a solid piece of brass but since the original left piece was a solid continuous piece, we had no choice but to make the car exactly as it was built in the GM styling studio.

Don Mayton, Don Feutz, Chuck Snow also worked on some of the small trim pieces.
