Subject: 56 X BUICK SESSION DEC 9 2014
Again our photographer did an outstanding job of capturing our work session and the work being performed. In addition Chuck brought along a guest, Phil Slack.
Photos #1 through #4 shows the progress that Bob is making on the instrument panel. The blue stripes in these photos are the blue tape Bob is using to mask off part of the instrument panel so that the grooves can be painted.
Ignore the Ford Tempo in the background as that is my grandson's car. He needed the hoist to repair brakes and a fast idle. Brakes are done and the car now stops and the fast idle was repaired with one $45 electronic part.
Photos #5, #6, & #7 show the various components to the windshield drive system. Ron Elzinga and Dick Chambers have gathered these up to sort them out and clean them up for chrome plating.
Photo #8 shows Dick Saddler's hands as he continues to bring the w/s vacuum motor to a show luster.
Photo #9 show one of the hood trim pieces that had to have a missing stud epoxied in place. Ron and Dick C. performed this job.
Photo #10 show about 25 male snap pieces removed from the trim that goes around the trim that holds the convertible top material in place at the rear of the convertible top. This trim has to have final polishing of its stainless as well as some small dents repaired. Ron was taking this to a person in this area that specializes in doing this type of repair and polishing.
Del sorted washers looking for the special square washers that go on the top of the fenders. Del has told us to his knowledge Buick was the only division in GM that used these square washers.
Jerry Bush and Don Feutz continued to work on making the special parade boot latch by copying the one original piece that we have.
Jim Baker continues to work on the swivel seat mechanism.
Chuck using the GM supplied SO list for this car has come across a part that that we are not aware of. We often have to consult with Larry Faloon on items on the SO list. More on that item later.
